Once a year your orchestra needs a refreshment course : I consider this a must! The most effective way would be to split up the orchestra in sections. With a Wind Orchestra this could be done in three large sections:

  • Woodwinds
  • Brass
  • Percussion

Even better results can be reached if the Brass section could be divided in:

  • High Brass
  • French Horns
  • Low Brass

Or even in smaller sections:

  • Trumpets
  • French Horns
  • Trombones
  • Euphoniums/tubas

It goes without saying that the last option will be the most expensive as for these sectionals, specialists have to be hired and enough space has to be provided for these separate workshops. In general the first option will be chosen involving three specialists to give your orchestra the necessary boost.

In case one of the sections seems to be struggling to attain the general level of the orchestra, it might be wise to give some extra attention to the said section. It is possible to hire a specialist to lead one workshop (or more) for i.e. the trumpet section of your orchestra. We will gladly provide the services of a specialist.
